I feel a probable "will go over like a lead balloon", but here goes---
Dr. Bob,
I know, in the past, you have encouraged posters to elaborate on WHY **they** feel a post is offensive and/or not in keeping with site guidelines. I would like for you to give that practice another thought when dealing with determinations.
I have stated before, I have difficulties with wordings of some determinations and **I** find them uncivil by virtue of the elaboration of the requestor.
If determinations are requested for you to determine and you set up the standards expected by posters, would not a simple “Please review this post” be enough of a request? I do not feel help in moderating should be so specific.
Determinations are allowed and I feel that isn’t going to stop. I don’t think some of this behavior is for the good of the site at large, but it is certainly within "rights" to ask for a determination. I think you should make the determinations based on your thoughts.
Should you want further information from the requestor, you could certainly ask. Then, the requestor could give further input AS ASKED.
I would appreciate your comments.
