I don't know why you say Lou was driven away. Several people have begged him to stay. It looks to me as if support for Lou is at an all-time high. Lou is a guy who's been blocked for most of the last couple years. Yet he comes back time and time again. (Lou, if you're reading, let me say I admire your persistence.) And this is a community that gives 2nd chances, and 3rd and 4th and Nth chances. There are supporters for everyone here.

So here's Lou again, he isn't blocked, people are reaching out to support him, it looks as if he's achieved more acceptance than ever, yet he decides to leave anyway. Why? I don't know, but I'd say there's something more complex than a simple villagers-with-torches scenario going on here.
