In my opinion, hiding email addresses is a good thing. For folks who sign up for Open and simply type in their normal email address, they probably don't expect it to be displayed. Yes, there are ways around it, but why trouble people, especially those who are not PC savvy?
Since I don't think anyone uses the poll features, my vote is to turn off the display of email addresses. But that's just my opinion.
