I'll reply in two parts.
First, this part. In a general sense of my observing the discussions ongoing here, it just seemed too serious. I don't think anyone's writing would survive the intense scrutiny being offered up in the guise of objectivity, these last few days. Some of what I read has made me very uncomfortable, yet I found myself doing a quick guffaw when I read jlo's post, so I thought I'd mention that.
> Lou very clearly expressed his pain at all the fun and hijinks that have been going on here lately. I find it a little difficult to see humor where pain results. But then, I never get what's so funny about practical jokes either.
I'm deeply troubled by what happened to Lou (the Big Ban), but I'm still at a loss with respect to some of the things with which he took issue. I haven't grasped the nuance, or maybe I've missed some key posts. I don't know. But I'm not finding any humour in his pain. That's not where I'm coming from. Sometimes, in the darkest moments, a dash of humour is like sunbeams breaking through the clouds. It's not that the clouds have gone away, but it certainly changes your perception.
