Posting identifying info about other posters

Posted by OddipusRex on January 21, 2003, at 16:04:08

Is there a policy re posting personal information such as real names of other posters? I know this has come up before in regard to posting sar's real name. There is a post on PB 2000 which identifies a former poster. Is this allowed? I don't think it should be.

I am not suggesting any negative motivations on the part of anyone who posted these things. But I also want to be assured that no one would be allowed to do that to me. For instance if someone posted saying OddipusRex is really Orville Redenbacher go see his popcorn site, would that be allowed? I hope not. And if someone else posted that OddipusRex is Orville Redenbacher and he's dead, would that be allowed?
