Lost boy in NYC

Posted by Arthurgibson on January 15, 2003, at 12:16:41

I don't see why he had to be banned for 32 weeks.

He was banned for writing: " I honestly think you are barking up the wrong tree with your fixation on psychotherapy and pop psychology things."

Dr. Bob interpreted this as "...making someone feel put down."

But Lost Boy also wrote in the same post: "Im not saying this to come down on you, Im truly not......Again, Im not coming down on you I am just suggesting some things based upon reading and observing your posts over the past year."

In other words he was politely taking a different view of things to the previous poster and emphasising his respect for that poster and going out of his way to be courteous and not make her feel "put down."

We are real people out here posting, not the "Stepford wives." If a poster wishes to take a different view to another and does it in a polite manner, as Lost Boy did, I see no reason to penalise him.
