dissecting the board

Posted by rayww on November 23, 2002, at 12:15:29

: to separate into pieces : expose the several parts of for scientific examination
2 : to analyze and interpret minutely
intransitive senses : to make a dissection

BTW, thankyou for guiding us to a great online free dictionary!
Today is the first day I have "gotten around to" exploring this administrative board. I didn't even know it was another board till I opened it this morning. (duhhh)

When you (all of us) are in your mental disorder you are able to dissect things into its many parts and see in to things that you normally would not see. We can all see missing parts to this board, that adding more branches might satisfy.

I think you (YOU) have asked the appropriate questions as to what are the fundamental parts to the psycological mind. But just in case we have missed one, please allow me a babble here.

As I see it the four areas we need to keep in balance in order to promote good general mental well being are: mental, physical, spiritual, and social.
The boards that support the mental would be:
Tele-Psycho, Psycho Psycho, or anything to do with learning and education.

Physical would be: psycho babble (medication), Exercise and nutrition, development of good habits and helpful routines, with understood acceptance for people as they are at the moment.

Spiritual would be: psycho faith, the artsy ones - like the book club, a place to share our own babbling brooks of poetry, writing, prose, short story, hymns, songs, etc. (These are the things that really find expression in the disorders)and for the sharing of wisdom and understanding.

Social would be: social babble, general just for fun, 2000-2001 stuff

And Administration would remain as it is, for evaluations, feed back, suggestions, and ideas.

I think you need to be careful adding more boards, because more might weaken the whole. Why not less, and broaden the definition of each? Why not focus on balance, rather than branches? Without noticing, a branch might lean out too far.

Psycho mental babble
Psycho physical babble
Psycho spiritual babble (psycho babbling brook)
Psycho social babble

It is difficult to tell the difference between mental, emotional, spiritual, and simply identifying, (dissecting) can lead to understanding, and understanding can lead to solutions. Can you tell the difference between emotion and feelings? Also, much physical work is mostly mental work for some. It may increase participation and decrease loneliness to simplify the categories and broaden the definitions of the board.

I think you may run into trouble on the faith board unless you broaden it to include more aspects of spirituality (not spiritualism) Again, do we know the difference? (light/dark, right/wrong, true/false)? Of course not because the powers of evil want those things to be confused, and they are. (is it allowed to refer to "powers of evil"). I take my hat off to you Dr. Bob if you can keep the faith board pointing in the right direction.
