When I went to your dictionary link, I got a religion entry, rather than a faith entry.
Here's what it says when you look up faith, and this is just that which applies to religious faith:
2 a (1) : belief and trust in and loyalty to God (2) : belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2) : complete trust
3 : something that is believed especially with strong conviction; especially : a system of religious beliefs.http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary
I kind of like this better than "the service and worship of God or the supernatural." That's not really what the faith board is about as much as it is about belief systems.
It's picking nits, indeed, but I was bored. And you know that idle minds are the devil's playground.
Also, an aside that belongs on faith regarding our discussion about what faith means: "firm belief in something for which there is no proof." Herein lies the semantical problem of our discussion. You were arguing that faith flies in the face of evidence to the contrary. My point was that we couldn't prove that NO god existed. Faith is really a belief in something that can't be proven, not that can be proven otherwise.
That's all. Have a nice day.
