I know it's more complicated this way, but it's possible the pros may outweigh the cons, so I think it's worth giving a try.
The idea is for the three of us to interpret the vague, general rules in a consistent way. I think they both have a good idea of what I consider civil (and what I don't), plus if I disagree with a decision they make I can reverse it. So it comes down to my interpretation, anyway.
> I'm familiar with the "when in doubt" phrase, but lately it seems all there is when it comes to posting.
I'm sorry it makes things more difficult, but my idea is that it may inconvenience individual posters to make sure their posts are civil, but the community as a whole benefits from a more civil general atmosphere -- and since those individuals are part of that community, they do, too.

Other types of posts may be a problem for certain people, but it wouldn't work to try to prohibit anything anyone objects to, so it ends up being up to those people to try to avoid those posts (or this whole site).
> 3.) May I ask exactly what this research is about? I know the general support and education, but that seems a little too general to me as well. Aren't there specifics, doesn't research have to be based on a theory or something? I think it's pretty normal for participants to know about that part at least.
Those are the goals of the site. The research goals are "to help us understand how online communities work and affect the mental health of their members." Which I know is still general...
I have some more specific projects in mind (like questionnaires, which have been discussed here before), and when I get them going I'll explain what's involved.
In the meantime, you may be able to get an idea of what I'm interested in from:

And that poster was blocked, right?
