An Idea for Dr. Bob

Posted by Ron Hill on July 30, 2002, at 12:25:15

Dr. Bob,

Here's an idea; might work, might not.

Maybe you could carry a "dedicated pager" and give the pager number to a handful of seasoned PB veterans (not me) who could call your pager when incidences break on the board. Then, at your earliest convenience you could attend to the administration of the board. With early intervention a brush fire can be contained and the all consuming raging forest fire can be avoided. One of yesterday’s brush fires burned longer than it should have and continues this morning:

Maybe the PB participants with the pager numbers could specify the time of day that he or she is typically on the board and, thereby, around-the-clock pager patrol could be established.

Great, just what you need; another communication device to carry and the PB Pager Patrol (PBPP) "staff" beeping you all hours of the day and night. I guess you could turn the pager off when needed (you do sleep, right?). Also, you could distribute guidelines to the PBPP staff describing the elements of a PB post that would be egregious enough to warrant a call to the pager. When a town turns into a city more patrol cars are typically required:
