Okay, I understand that the current the current list does sometimes include posts from the previous archive because when I click on current posts in a certain way (I couldn't even say how, it just sorta happens!) I notice a long list of previous threads, some of which are from an archive.

My new question is this - is a thread ever *broken up*, i.e. separated so that part of it winds up in one archive and the other part in another archive?
