Question about the purpose of Psycho-Babble Book

Posted by Abby on February 8, 2002, at 17:11:11

Is this supposed to be an on-line version of a real-world book club, where everyone reads the same book and discusses it for a week or month, the non real-time equivalent of a meeting?

Would it be appropriate for me to post a message asking for a suggestion for a book on a particular topic? For example, I'm interested in learning about sleep, how you can tell how much you need, what the quality is without going to a sleep lab etc. Where would be the right board to discuss that sort of thing.

Also, I'd be interested in an "advanced" forum on neurology and medications. The difference from PB would be that the focus would be on the research --both pure science and applied medication, about how things work for the sake of curiosity rather than simply for solving one's own problems.
