Aren't all sites equally public? Or are you talking about private email?
I don't like some of the other depression boards I've seen that much (I know this covers more than depression but that's my main interest in it).
The Psycho-Babble boards seems more solution-oriented. Like people are looking for answers, and most of the posters are well-informed.
I have a lot of empathy for anyone with depression but sometimes when people just post hopeless, desperate messages week after week as is common on other sites I've visited, it threatens to drag me down with them. Some of that is understandable but for me it's difficult to take if it happens too much and there aren't enough of other kinds of posts to relieve it.
