Good Morning Bob,
I spoke last night with a friend of mine who runs a board similar to PB (not in subject matter) and he told me that his experience has been that between the months of October and February seem to be especially bad for aggressive posting, misunderstandings, hurt feelings and a general lack of tolerance for humor on boards such as these. His view as to why this happens is (1) the major holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas, are extremely hard for a lot of people (financial worries, bad prior experiences, trouble coping with family and friends), and, (2) the winter months (rain, snow, cold weather) are tough for many people and tend to make even "normal" people depressed. He says these factors among others, tend to manifest themselves into, what he termed "out of the norm" behavior.
I was wonering if this has been your experience here, do you agree with his assessment and do you know if there has been any studies done on this?
While I don't necessarily agree with everything he said, a lot of it makes sense to me. I'm curious as to your take on this.
Greg
