First, thank you, everyone, for responding to that post here rather than there. That's what this board is for, plus, because of the timing, that thread was archived -- and stayed archived.
This has in fact come up before, though more directly (some methods were actually posted here then):

I think my position is still that this is a site for support, and posting methods -- or, in this case, links to methods -- isn't supportive.
If everyone knows methods already, posting them is unnecessary. If someone is determined, posting them won't make a difference, but if someone is undecided, it might.
I'd like for there to be as much freedom to post as possible, so feel free to try to change my mind, but I do think that in some circumstances I need to draw a line.
