I guess it is because calculus is built on algebra. And algebra is built on these basic or foundational mathematical concepts that most people don't have.
Most people don't have the capacity to grasp? Maybe? Maybe that is true.
I don't know how much most people have been EXPOSED to those basic or foundational concepts, particularly.
I am not opposed to anybody and everybody who wants to learn that stuff learnign that stuff.
But calculus was my example of cumulative learning.
Where you need to demonstrate basic competence before progressing.
So, I don't even understand what calculus is for. Because I certainly have not hit up upon the limits of algebra.
That's what I meant. But he probably didn't get that.
I mean to say I probably didn't explain it very well.
