I don't think the price of medications tends to increase over time, more likely decrease.
It looks like they are trying to increase profits by broadening the patient base.
A relatively easy way to do that is by looking at side-effects and seeing if side-effects could potentially help some people.
E.g., if a medication lowers androgen levels or decreases androgen receptors or something like that then may be it can help with disorders which involve over-activity of androgen receptors or androgen levels or something like that.
I don't know much about prostate cancer. I heard in these parts that something like... It might have been 1/3 or it might have been as high as 2/3 of men have enlarged prostate when they die. Enlarged prostate will progress to cancer if it enlarges for long enough. But the treatments for enlarged prostate involve supressing / descreasing levels of androgens and guys tend not to like the way it makes them feel. so guys tend not to want to take the medication. And surgical removal gone wrong would be unacceptable to many, too...
I guess Nardil might be a gentler way.
I don't know.
