Is adding Topamax to Nardil potentially more effective than adding Topamax to other medications since Nardil affects Gaba?
I was on Topamax in the past for over a year on Marplan and it made me feel "odd". I'm bipolar and I think it helped in ways in staying stable w/ my moods but of course I also had the typical memory/stupid issues and tingles.
I just restarted it about a week ago but now I'm on Nardil. I started it at a higher dose of 50 and it seems like it's really kicked the anti-anxiety side of Nardil in to second gear....at least at times. I've had a couple of good days and one really terrible day where I couldn't get out of bed so far. My main goal w/ starting topamax is to try to lose weight that Nardil has begun to put on in spite of Metformin delaying it.
Anyway I know Nardil touches Gaba and Topamax does as well. It seems like they might make a really good combo. Has anyone noticed any amazing relief from combining the two?
(Please don't bash Topamax - I'm well aware that it's a rough one....but some people drink scotch and some drink beer...and right now I'm just looking for positive info).
Nardil - 60mg - Gavis/Lupin
Lamictal 225 - (Taro)
Seroquel 25 - (Lupin/Sleep)
Metformin XL 1500 - (Sun Pharma)
Topiramate 50 - (Glenmark and/or Cipla - Have both determining)
