Interesting. I do know that sleeping can adjust the balance of neurotransmitters (i.e. norepinephinre / acetylcholine).
Oversleeping possibly lowers norepinephrine, which may actually create symptoms that mimic withdrawal from the drug.
I know that when I oversleep, I occasionally get 'brain zaps' (while on Effexor). I think what is happening is that the Effexor supresses REM sleep, and if I oversleep I probably get some form of REM rebound (which can produce some of the side effects associated with antidepressant withdrawal).
TCAs can cause hypotension alone. Oversleep might be counteracting this by increasing norepinephrine output. Oversleeping might reduce this and hence reveal the side effect of clomipramine.
Random thoughts...who knows.
