I've smoked my fair share of cannabis and want to warn you that different strains can interact with medications.
It has happened to me when i ate an maoi (i can't say what sort of maoi because it wasn't legal), and i ended up in hospital because os some sort of dopamine/serotonin overload.I'm pretty sure that it can work, but i urge you to talk to your pdoc about it and not take advises on internet..
Sorry about this, i usually am very liberal to giving advises to people about things, but this is to risky so please take it with you doctor.
If you find the right strain with the right ratio of thc/cbd and all the other 350 (?) cannabinoids that is present in mj, it can be very helpful.
But i can't give you any advises even if i know to some extent what you can smoke and not.
Different strains activate very very different synaptic receptors in the brain.
Kind regards / J
