Wellbutrin is an interesting drug in that it has a reduced rate of inducing mania, despite its effects on dopamine and norepinephrine. Since you do not have a bipolar component to your illness as you describe, this would not apply to you. In other words, Wellbutrin might still have a tendency to produce anxiety, agitation, anger, and perhaps psychosis. It would be hard to predict with you.

I understand your reluctance to try anything for which psychosis has been reported. Perhaps you could increase your dosage of Zyprexa temporarily before adding the Wellbutrin. If you do not have a psychotic reaction, then you can then try to reduce the Zyprexa. I REALLY hate to disqualify any possible treatment from consideration in TRD. However, I do have some experience with severe manic psychosis. I have an appreciation for its intensity.
