One explanation is that the nausea produced by SRIs is due to the increase in the stimulation of 5-HT3 receptors resulting from serotonin reuptake inhibition. Over time, this nausea may dissipate on its own as 5-HT3 receptors downregulate. This would take a few weeks.

Ondansetron (Zofran) is a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist often used to treat nausea. It would probably reduce SRI-induced nausea acutely if necessary. So far, I cannot find any reports of rebound nausea occurring once the drug is discontinued.
