Remeron is mostly a strong antihistamine at lower doses, and then adds to that an adrenalin booster of sorts, or NE releaser actually, at the same time. That's why you are feeling both calming and activation mixed.
I've had that feeling before. That sucks! Yikes. Sorry!
It will take more time for the body to adjust to the new med molecule and what it is doing. And it may well be that your best dose is lower at 30mg. Only self trials and time will tell.
