I dunno. Depakote is fairly standard, but I don't like it. I take 1200/Trileptal and 100/Lamictal, w/ low dose neurontin rarely, when needed.
I'd try to get trileptal and/or Lamictal, maybe full dose neurontin or lyrica. Have you ever tried Abilify? I think Abilify is more tolerable than a lot of other stuff on the market, that's why I'm asking. Of course, around 30-35mgs/day, you can't push it up much more and get any improved results (this from my shrink).
Sorry about your situation. I get the sense that most psychiatrists aren't all that great. The "expert psychopharmacologists" who charge loads per session seem to work mostly for upper class people who need fun pills :-( . Then the community mental health shrinks, like mine, just wanna ramp up the AP/AAP and/or tell you how to live your life (because they're affluent and you're not, usually).
Blah blah blah...I hope you can find a good shrink. Not to sound critical, but I'm kind of worried by your high doses. I mean, if you're schizoaffective, in particular, it seems that they'd want to reduce the AAP and get some other stuff on board to take care of mood and anxiety issues. Or...they could just ramp up the tranquilizers, I guess.
Good luck!
