Looking at my history of depressions I'm fairly certain that extended periods of high levels of stress and anxiety, particularly due to a job, are what precipitates a depression.
A prolonged exposure to glucocorticoids and other stress hormones maybe puts the brain in some form of "sleep mode" to protect itself, or it's the result of atrophy in certain regions of the brain. That's my theory for *my* depression anyway.
With Parnate and plenty of exercise I'm in remission, I'm not working right now, because I need to find a job that can work in the long run and which I don't dread every evening./tensor
