MAOI diet (whey vs. whey protein?)

I know that "whey protein" is listed as prohibited on the MAOI diet.
But what about if whey is being used as a food additive? For example, on a box of cereal, it might say "whey (from milk)" as one of the ingredients.
I've done extensive research on this and cannot find an answer. And it's not exactly like I'm a newbie to MAOIs. I've been taking Parnate on-and-off since 2006. And my psychopharmacologist is a renowned expert in MAOIs. He said it should be fine, but I just want to check in and see if anyone else has consumed food with "whey" (not whey protein) as an additive and been fine afterward.
