I don't think it would be wise, based on your story and history, to continue down the psychiatric route as your primary weapon. You've already proven that is not the right approach for whatever is causing your symptoms. Why waste more of your life? Especially when there are so many other things you can do to improve symptoms and quality of life?

The problem is, most of us get stuck in the merri-go-round of pdocs and we accidentally, unknowingly, close off the entire rest of the earth's ability to heal us. We stop learning, we stop researching, or we never even get started in the first place. It's a common journey for most of us including me. And a sad fact.

Here's my story, long made short. Severe depression over 15 years, 15 specialists mostly pdocs, $35,000 total spent, backpack stuffed with failed meds, failed ECT. I'm still not in remission, but what was it that finally got me out of that deep dark endless dungeon? Herbal strategies of anti-inflammation, anti toxins, and anti-microbials. Notice....none of them have anything to do with psychiatry, but they accomplished what psychiatry could not.

My depression was caused by lyme disease. 15 specialists failed to make the diagnosis. A Nurse Practitioner blew them all in the weeds and figured it out. She basically saved my life with what was actually obvious clues right in front of us the entire time.

Since then I have had a Lyme Literate MD, and he says some of his patients have only one symptom....depression, and he sees them get better with antibiotics and temporary low doses of ADs.

Most lyme patients have depression as a top symptom. Only 1 person in 10 who has lyme is diagnosed as such. Think about that.

Now before anyone gets wild and says oh there goes blueberry with the lyme stuff again, seriously, think about the paragraph before this one. And now, take it a step further....my example is only one of maybe a dozen different scenarios I could share with you that cause depression. And psych drugs are useless against most of them.

So when you say dead ends and limits, I say wrong.
