Sorry if I'm redundant, but I'm making some med changes and want to be prepared when I see my pdoc tomorrow. (Our visits are 30 minutes long and despite thinking I'm prepared when I see him, I always forget to address something important.)
My goal is to be on a simple, streamlined med regimen while tackling my depression and anxiety (which is not well controlled at the moment). I'm on 450 mg of lithium nightly. I started at 300 mg. I don't think the dose increase helped my mood, and if anything, it's given me some unsavory cognitive side effects. Can someone help clarify the effects of different doses? It's my understanding that lower doses act as an antidepressant and higher ones are mood stabilizers. Is there much of a difference between 300 and 450? Is it possible to receive any mood stabilizing effects at 300 mg?
Thanks,
b
