In reply to Paroxetine Vs. Nardil - your experiences, posted by Diego11 on October 19, 2012, at 14:40:38
Was on Paxil for 2 or 3 years. Have been on Nardil for 9. Nardil blows Paxil out of the water for SP and anxiety in general, and for depression. It is prob somewhat worse for OCD, but Paxil didn't help me much with that anyway.
I was up to 50mg Paxil, and a high of 60mg Nardil, typically 45, and sometimes less.Paxil is great for leveling out your mood (minimizing the pain and severity of depression I can feel), but it also just makes me numb and anhedonic. Nardil has some of that effect, as it is very serotonergic, but not nearly as much.
Nardil is also far better for anxiety, esp soc anxiety, and also makes you much more pro-social than Paxil does.
It is far better than Paxil all around, except for certain things like some potentially worse side effects, and the inconvenience of multiple-daily dosing and of certain dietary and esp drug restrictions. But in my opinion, it is well worth it.
> many people say that Nardil is the best drug for treatment social phobia and anxiety, so I wonder, if anyone here has ever tried both medications( Nardil and Paxil) and he/she can compare effects ? I know that everyone reacts differently to drugs, but I'm curious about your experiences.
