yea eric is right this is an OCD symptoms even thought it doesnt sound like it...its the compulsion to do things that are not normal, intruding thoughts of repetative thoughts.
I don't know if this is the best advice but yea you should try something that will suppress these thoughts but usally to completely block them it would also block regular thinking. Have you heard of Invega...?? i think it would be vary helpful in this case...
this is some advice on my personal episodes with this...you gotta say to your self something that is going to distract you from thinking this...say something like "better...better...better" tricking your mind into the thinking its getting better and then it evnetually leaves...its suggestion principle. Do that...distract yourself from these thoughts, keep saying to yourself your getting better even thought you may not...it will have big diffrence on how your mind filters what it feels.
