I don't know about you, but I value my sanity too much to take risks. I don't mess around. I had all of one 24 hour episode where I was psychotic, and that's it. Since then, I've been on a depot injection. I don't have negative symptoms because I intervened so quickly. And I don't plan on having any anytime soon. I'm not like most psychotics, who apparently seem to take psychosis lightly.
Also, after having bad experiences with high doses of antipsychotics from the 60's and 70's, docs are very careful to give the lowest effective dose these days to avoid the side effects high doses brought on.
