I wanted to share what i recognized while taking Nardil 1st time. I started to take it at 30 mg/day and increased to 75 mg gradually over a period of 5 weeks.
Everytime i got some hypotension issues diminishing pretty fast. Aside from that I had more durable constipation which also went away after a while as the anorgasmia did. The sleep probs were the worst side effect in my case and on top I hate lacking REM/dreaming sleep which never went away.
Cinsidering the effect there was something I want to discuss here. When increasing dosage, after approx. 10 days the initial euphoric effect faded. Due to this I increased my dosage, as I thought it alreaddy poops out. I did this each time the minor side effects wore off. By doing so, each time I gained back instant effect until I reached 105 mgs. At this dosage I recognized its too much as I got Brain zaps which already occured at 90 mg, but this didnt make me too nervous.
Then I recognized that there came kind of a late response to Nardil, which I felt was the "real" effect. At this point 105 mgs felt way too much and I started to decrease the dosage to 75 mg. Staying at this dosage, even this was too much and I became manic and ended up in light psychosis.
Did anybody see this to happen?? Me and my pdoc then decided to go off of Nardil as my pdoc mentioned it to be too dangerous for me.
Now, back on the next SSRI drug I feel uncomfortable again. No drive, social isolation, numbness, no motivation....
This is not how I want to live and I think about a 2nd trial on Nardil. This time I want to do it more patient, as I think there was this "real" effect after some time. In the first trial I kind of misunderstood the initial euphoric effect as the "real" effect I think and ended up in excessive dosing.
Is there anybody out there who is familiar with this???
