I'm new to this message board and I'm not sure how much right I have to say anything, especially in a new thread, but I don't know where else to put this. "Psycho-babble medication" has been the best thing to happen to me in the past month, and yet unless something changes I think I have to leave for my mental health.
I just don't understand why, on a MEDICATION message board, I have to receive messages that are eerily similar to the anti-med judgments of my friends, family, and acquaintances. I come here for non-judgmental information, advice, and support. Yet it seems almost half the threads turn into yet another pro-med/anti-med debate. I see over and over again people being banned for a week for saying something against Lou, yet no one was banned when I specifically asked to not get any more anti-med messages due to feeling suicidal and expressly triggered (Lou's messages were mostly suicide information regarding people on meds), and was immediately written to again. No one was banned when I was called anti-semitic (I'm half Jewish, btw) for complaining about my very personal thread being turned into a platform on which to deliver anti-med rants.
Obviously I haven't been here long, I haven't been much help and no one will miss me. Still, it's a very sad missed opportunity for me, because I was very excited about the support and information I received here and got nowhere else.
Thanks to everyone for your help and support, especially Phillipa, Bleuberry, B2chica, g_g_g unit. and most especially Scott. I almost put this on the "appreciate Scott" thread but wasn't sure if that was appropriate. However, Scott, I can't tell you how much you've helped me, in terms of information, ideas for meds, support in general, ways to explain to my p-doc that interest in meds simply shows that I still have hope, and above all, the inspiration that comes from you doing so well so that I can keep that hope alive. I very much hope you continue to do great and that you are always given the support you give others.
Good luck, all
