It might help to reduce glutamate activity, cell firings, and enhance GABA activity. This can be calming.
I have not seen Trileptal act as an antidepressant in unipolar depression. However, it might be helpful in bipolar disorder.

You might have to increase your salt intake. Trileptal can deplete the body of salt (sodium). It is a good idea to have a blood test just to make sure.
