What dosage did you arrive at? Any bipolar stuff going on? How was your energy level while taking nortriptyline? Was it better than without nortriptyline.

You could try desipramine. It, too, can be activating and produce irritability, but these things sometimes dissipate as one emerges from depression. For me, I respond better to nortriptyline than desipramine. However, there are people for whom the converse is true.
