Lamictal making OCD worse?

Posted by Jsunday on November 15, 2011, at 6:57:59

Hi Everyone,

I'm in week two of Lamictal (25mg/day) for BPII depression (can't take SSRI's) and I think it's making my OCD much worse. I'm having symptoms that I haven't had in months. I know that my p-doc is going to say that the OCD is caused by an increase in stress, but the OCD tracks perfectly with the Lamictal in my mood journal and it's getting worse by the day.

The L seems to help with some things: I am calmer and a little less depressed. But I can't and won't live with a high level of OCD. P-doc has mentioned Ritalin for depression in the past. Any thoughts?
