In reply to Trazodone sleep dosage?, posted by clubfitter on June 26, 2011, at 8:56:54

> I had been taking 100 mg with 6mg of Melatonin and seeing some improvement in my sleep. Last night I took 150 with no melatonin and slept really well....for me. I don't want to become so dependent of meds just to sleep, and don't want the dosage to get out of hand in order for it to be effective. It was also a different generic brand than what I had been taking....one i was told to avoid (PLIVA) because it wasn't nearly as effective as others (Qualitest). I also had an extremely physically exerting weekend and very little sleep....so that likely played a part.

I think i took 50mg when i was on parnate.

I don't think you get much physical dependence, because you have 'no drug' occuring during the day. Its not like a 3-day halflife drug.

you should be able to take it as needed.

i think melatonin is most helpful for sleep initiation (including if you wake up, it is something to take)
