I used to suffer from anhedonia after taking Adderall or Vyvanse in combination with Lamictal and Cymbalta. At first I would feel great, but then 8 hours later I would emotionally crash.

Interestingly enough though, my doctor and I are trying Adderall and Vyvanse once again now that my depression has improved since taking Parnate. We are taking a careful approach because of the risk of hypertensive crisis. So far, my body responds well with the combo without severe side effects or severe anhedonia (studies have shown that MAOI's and stimulants are safer than previously thought).

My guess is that you are correct about your dopamine receptors. They may be overwhelmed by a rush of activity and can't handle the Effexor and Mirapex combo. You just got to find the right combination for yourself, whether that means keeping or dropping either of the two meds your on now. It can be a difficult process to find the right regimine, but in the end, it's worth it if you find something that suits your particular needs.

-Best of luck
