Hi,
I have been on amitriptyline for 37 years, so I'm an expert on this medicine.
The normal dose for sleep would be 50 mg of amitriptyline. 15 mg is a very low dose.
I suggest that you try 30 mg of this drug two hours before bedtime.
When I began with Elavil in 1972 I took 30 mg for the first year. I slept well, but I lost my job and increased the dosage.
I think that amitriptyline is the nr 1 drug for sleep, but I have always hated the side effects.
Now I take 45 mg of mirtazapine for sleep.
Best regards,
X-ray
