I think you would find that Voltarol Emulgel is more effective. Also, it won't set your knees on fire :) It's definitely a lot more popular than Zacin.

Prescription anti-inflammtory meds such as diclofenac or naproxen can be more effective for arthritis than ibuprofen because they have a stronger anti-inflammatory effect. Most people take them in combination with omeprazole or lansoprazole, which protect the stomach. Celecoxib (Celebrex) is a newer anti-inflammatory drug which is less irritant to the stomach.
All anti-inflammatory tablets are more likely to cause side effects than Voltarol Emulgel, so you should probably try that first. You can buy it from a pharmacy but it's a small tube and it's quite expensive. If it works, you could then ask your GP for the large tube on prescription. Just a thought.
