I personally don't doubt that it can. I developed pain in the knees while on Effexor many years ago, and my sister is currently experiencing a lot of joint trouble on Pristiq as I write this. She is now struggling to get off if without too many discontinuation symptoms in an effort to mitigate the joint pain.
