Well, I haven't been on Nardil, but I recommend that you and your psychiatrist consider desipramine. I like it. But probably try the Nardil on its own first. (Maybe you have and I am unaware?) I have heard of others who actively disliked the desipramine, so, I guess it has wide variability. One reply to me before here on PsychoBabble did give me pause; the guy said it brought out massive anger in him. Desipramine has a HUGE dose range. If I recall correctly, the pills start at 10 mg and go to at least 100 mg. I am on three 100 mg pills/day. I do have to have a beta blocker to calm down my heart's response to it, and to decrease the desipramine-caused anxiety.
I think desipramine is not known to act on serotonin (just norepinephrine), so that is why I believe it is safe with MAOI, even though some computer systems may have a blanket warning saying all tricyclics are contraindicated with MAOIs, because of fear of serotonin syndrome.
