In reply to Parnate - Daytime Sedation - Does it go away?, posted by SLS on August 7, 2009, at 13:26:58
I had the daytime sleepiness problem when I took Parnate. It took about a month for it to disappear, and when it did it happened overnight. I would suddenly get intensely sleepy in mid-afternoon, around 2 or 3 pm. It would hit quickly, and I'd practically fall asleep standing. Staying awake was an extreme challenge. It lasted about 90 minutes to two hours max. Afterwards, I'd feel fine. Then at night I couldn't sleep. In my case, it totally resolved - both the nighttime insomnia and daytime "narcolepsy," in about four weeks.
