Ask for samples of Zyprexa. That should do real nice on the irritation and sleep. Also good potential to turbocharge the overall effectiveness on depression. Probably wouldn't need but maybe 2.5mg, 5mg max.
Another option is Lunesta. Good for sleep, and it does have some mild calming carryover into the next day.
A tiny dose of Amitriptyline is dependable longterm.
You can also reduce the dose, but that requires customizing your own capsules. Dump one out, count out 10 beads for every 1mg you want, and then swallow them on something soft without chewing, such as applesauce, pudding, yogurt. Or, it is hard, load the little beads back into a gelcap.
One person at a medication review site says that 15mg works just fine for him and that he thinks the drug is dosed too high. Lower doses can work but take twice as long to kick in.
