I'm sorry to hear about that. It is, however, a known risk. One of the reasons for the hospitalization and testing is to determine if something else was going on. They had to rule out other causes, and that takes a little while. Meanwhile, discontinuation of the hydrocortisone, along with remission of symptoms, would provide a presumptive case for cause and effect.
