I do hear what you're saying -- I'm not going to say one way or another whether it had something to do with benzodiazepines -- I still have muscle stiffness from dumping a huge load of benzodiazepines cold turkey 11+ years ago.But -- the symptoms you describe, despite "a lot of tests" -- I went through a lot of tests, and I'm not denying the pain in finding the truth, still I have an 'orphan disorder' today.
What seems like benzodiazepine withdrawal could actually be something else rare.
A lot of those symptoms, not trying to compare completely to myself, I guess I am biased, but they sound rather like somatic conditions one would find in a somatoform related disorder.
Anxiety turned into bodily complaints for unknown reasons, and what is felt is VERY real, but without organic reasons. The most common one is pseudoseizures, seen a lot.
I'm just offering an alternate explanation because sometimes causality is not always causation.
And yes, under stressed conditions like now, my withdrawal complaints from years ago are also concurrent with my 'orphan disorder' and are stronger.
