Of course it is. We call that food.

Virtually any protein that you can imagine has tyrosine in it. It doesn't matter if it's lentil soup, a potato, or a pork chop, you're taking tyrosine. Whey or soy protein powders contain other aminos that compete for transport into the muscle or brain, so they also act like food.

If you're contemplating taking an isolated pure amino tyrosine supplement on an empty stomach, then you might find a mild reaction ensues because there are negligible concentrations of competing amino acids present, and you've taken a dose that exceeds the amount you'd normally get from food. From what you asked, I don't think that's what you're worried about, right?
