Serotonin Syndrome

Posted by HLJMJ on March 7, 2009, at 22:17:15

I'm at my wits end. I have had depression for years and I can't take any SSRI's or Effexor. Whenever I start these medicines they work for while, then I get I start getting all weird symptoms, the worst is hyperthermia.

My doctor just doesn't seem to care. He'll just say, "That's wierd". So, I don't take these medicines.

Recently, my depression got so bad that I was barely functioning, so I started taking Effexor again. I tolerated it for a month, then the serotonin syndrome symptoms came back.
(I attribute the relapse of serotonin syndrome due to sudden hot weather) I live in Texas, where it is very hot.

However, is there any hope? How do people who have serotonin syndrome and major depression cope?

Thank You Very Much
