Dear trainwreck, Apotheosis has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Class a drugs - in the Anxiety Forum - The place to discuss anxiety issues forum of Mental Health Forum. This thread is located at:http://www.mentalhealthforum.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3114&goto=newpost Here is the message that has just been posted:*************** ---Quote (Originally by QUALITY FACTOR)---It was not my choice to be retired off for ill health, I fought it tooth and nail. It caused me absolute devastation.---End Quote---Lack of sympathy for men being ill aside - Nor was it my choice to suffer with around 20 years of severe mental illness & all that entailed; & 17 years of active addiction; also not my fault. & to then have received the abysmal lack of help & support from the orthodox. Do you not think I have also been through "absolute devastation"? It appears you are doing mainly exactly the same as me - managing an illness. Which is why I asked the question after you stated - ---Quote (Originally by QF)---I am at a total loss to understand you Apotheosis. I feel you think too much and don't get on with the practicalities of life.---End Quote---I don't want to sound "Big headed" or boastful, just honest - this is some of the stuff I have done/do - Education wise - 9 GCSE's 7 above "C" - 3 "A's". A 2 year B-Tec in General Art & Design, specialising in fine Art. An EMFEC, 1 year; in computer graphics (Distinction). 2 Medium level, & Advanced Course's in Web Design. CCNA - Pt 1 - (Merit) - [Cisco Networking Course]. IT Essentials (1 Year) - Distinction. (Entry level computer technician Qualification) A shorter course in "System's analysis" (Distinction). 1 year training in a Carpentry Workshop (Certificated). 1 year GNVQ in Catering (Merit). Fully trained in Reiki (Master), & also full trained in the Cartouche system of healing. 2 photography courses (including extensive dark room experience). Many shorter computer courses; including Clait 2-4. Numerous self-development courses; including STEPS (Steps to Personal Excellence). Add to that over 10 years of research into the field of mental health. Work - Some 6 years as a Chef (Full time). 3 years on Building sites (Skilled Labourer) [All aspects - Ground work, second fixing, brickwork, carpentry, roofing, some electrical work, painting, ect] - (also full time)1 year odd in Horticulture in a herb nursery. (full time) All that work was undertaken through my illness - & the only times I haven't worked is when I have been too ill to, & lost jobs as the result of sections. I have also spent a lot of time earlier in my life painting & exhibited in a number of places. The past 7 years have involved a lot of "work" with MH recovery & addiction recovery. Including a lot of involvement with 12 step groups & all that entails. Living independently for all that time & with over 10 years out of hospital. I have many plans; admittedly, like yourself - I have been devastated by "illness" - but I enjoy a very full social life & live as well as I can. I go to the Orchestra, read a lot, have many interests; including computers, photography (I no longer paint very often, not really at all), Cooking, Reiki healing & many other things - All things considered I live a full & productive life as a contributing member of the community. Which is why I asked you the question? I very much get on with the practicalities of life; & got the impression from you that you think I waste my time analysing & spending all day inanely thinking about things of no consequence. As I've already talked about - One of the big problems I see in the World is that people don't think; Not at any depth anyway.*************** There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again.
