Antipsychotics and Chest Tightness

Posted by Betsy122 on January 1, 2009, at 11:12:26

I have been on antipsychotics for the last six months (first geodon, then seroquel, now abilify) and have experienced an ever-worsening chest tightness. My doctors attributed it to anxiety, but I have tried a whole host of anti-anxiety as well as side effect meds for the antipsychotics, and none of them seem to make a difference in the chest tightness. Now I'm going to have my heart chekced. And we also wonder if acid reflux couldn't be causing the breathing difficulties since the antipsychotics give me problems with my digestion. Does anyone else have any experience with antipsychotics and chest tightness? If so, did anything help? If you eventually went off the antipsychotics, did the chest tightness go away?
